BREAKING NEWS: Disabled man attacked in his home

The man was allegedly ambushed by two men in his home.

FERNWOOD – A wheel-chair bound man was beaten at his home in Fernwood, shortly after 8am this morning (January 23).

It is believed the man left the house to take his wife to work, and drop off his son at school.

On arrival, he entered his home and was ambushed by two men who allegedly attacked him.

An account from a close family member stated one of the perpetrators delivered a blow to the head of the man, while the other restrained him.

According to neighbours, no commotion could be heard at the time.

“I decided to wake up a little later today. When I saw vehicles filling up next door I went to find out what had happened. I called the man’s wife straight away,” said a neighbour.

The injured man was taken to hospital.

Police, as well as a forensic team, were on scene to conduct further investigations.
