Dr Joseph Shabalala Foundation strategy meeting in Ladysmith

The Dr Joseph Shabalala Foundation held a strategy meeting at the Limit Hill Hall on Monday and Tuesday. The aim was to locate events that are going to be held in Ladysmith and surrounding areas, and discuss how they can help promote these events.
Deputy mayors from the Uthukela District, including the deputy mayor of Alfred Duma Local Municipality, attended the planning workshop. Other role players such as Buti Maloi from the Department of Economic Development and Romeo Qetsimani (director of the Dr Joseph Shabalala Foundation) were also there to give their input.
In addition, business owners, councillors and many artists from Ladysmith and as far as Durban provided valuable information.
Dr Joseph Shabalala himself was also in attendance, gracing the workshop with his presence.
The foundation will identify business, entertainment and creative events, and attempt to promote them. The foundation will also be developing programmes such as ‘back to school’ and talent searches. Not forgetting their intention to promote and develop small businesses and non-governmental organisations.
The two-day workshop helped the foundation in a big way and they will only look to grow from here on out.
