Electrical services vehicle crashes into light pole in busy Ladysmith street

Large groups of people from nearby shops gathered along the roadside to watch as paramedics treated the injured and the vehicle was towed away

A municipal Electrical Engineering vehicle crashed into a streetlight pole this morning (January 27) in Illing Road. The road was busy, with numerous vehicles travelling along at the time.

It is alleged that the driver lost control of the vehicle, crashing into the light pole, a bin and also rear-ending a bakkie.

The light pole and the bin were badly damaged as they lay on the ground in the aftermath of the collision.

Sharaj Ambulance Services responded to the scene and treated two people for moderate injuries before taking them to hospital.
