Spioenkop Dam at 101% full

This has been the case from last week Tuesday when water was overflowing over the dam wall

The heavy rain that hit Ladysmith and surrounding areas has done wonders for the level of Spioenkop Dam.

This morning (February 27), when the level of the dam was checked, it was sitting on 101% full.

This has been the case from last week Tuesday when water was overflowing over the dam wall.

The Tugela River has also filled up nicely, with the water still flowing at great pressure.

With the river being fed with overflow from the dam, it didn’t cause any damage, but has brought great relief to farmers along the Tugela River.

At the moment, water is still flowing over the Spioenkop Dam wall (ie over 100% full).
