2 injured in evening crash in Lyell Street

Public Safety, emergency personnel and towing services responded to the scene

Two people were injured in a crash in Lyell Street last night (September 13).

The crash took place at the corner of Lyell and Alexandra Street.

Two light motor vehicles were involved in the collision.

Both vehicles ended up off the roadway, with one of them crashing through a palisade fence and the other lying on the steps leading to the entrance of a business in Lyell Street.

Public Safety, emergency personnel and towing services responded to the scene.

Paramedics treated the injured for minor injuries sustained.

Many people going home from work and people who were in the taxi rank area gathered at the scene of the crash to see what was going on.

Motorists passed the scene with caution.
