Motorists and business owners furious with construction work in Main Road

What people are most angry about is that they say the road has been dug up over a metre deep and driveways into businesses have been closed off

Motorists and business owners are fed up about the repairs to Main Road in the industrial area of town.

People and business owners say this is now the third time the road is being “fixed”.

One worker from a business in Main Road says that right where the construction is, there are five big businesses affected by the roadworks.

What people are most angry about is that they say the road has been dug up over a metre deep and driveways into businesses have been closed off.

People who work in the area have commented that the road has been dug up and yet no work has been done since, which is well over two months. They add that, “We only see people with flags standing there, waving the traffic into the one lane that is open, but no other work is being done.”

Motorists say they are tired of work being done on the roads, with the construction carrying on for months on end and never getting finished.

Business owners and motorists want the road to be fixed, as it is causing a major problem for everyone in the area.
