Unpleasant weather conditions expected across SA and cooler conditions for Ladysmith

The maximum temperature is expected to be around 14 degrees, with some showers during the morning on Tuesday

A cut-off low (weather system that may remain stationary for several days) is expected over South Africa today (October 9), bringing unpleasant and cold conditions to areas across the country.

The cut-off low is predicted to cause disruptive snowfalls over the Southern Drakensberg and Eastern Cape areas, while snow extends into Lesotho and into the Drakensberg mountains in the east of Lesotho.

Snow at this time of year is very difficult to predict.

If the prediction of snow is correct, it will fall today (Monday) and into Tuesday in the affected areas.

The cut-off low is likely to bring cool conditions to Ladysmith tomorrow (October 10).

Rain has already started falling in town.

The maximum temperature is expected to be around 14 degrees, with some showers during the morning on Tuesday.

Because of the nature of cut-off lows, dramatic changes can be expected without warning.
