Academic Achievements at Glencoe Primary School
Glencoe Primary School once again showed their high standard of academics with term 3’s top ten learners from grades 4 to 7. The competition amongst learners was so strong that mere decimals separated them between positions. The top learner in grade 4 was Avuyile Majola with 85.5%. Grade 5 was Muhammed Hoffese with an outstanding 92.5%. Grade 6 saw Kayla Müller take the lead with 86% and Head Girl, Tayyaba Khan, took first place with an impressive 91%. Well done to these top learners and all the other top ten achievers.
Cultural and Religious Diversity
Glencoe Primary School embraced and celebrated its learners cultural and religious diversities during a talk in Monday morning’s assembly held by Mr Lloyd. The topic was about “Light Overcoming Darkness” and how various religions, (Christianity, Hinduism and Islam), all celebrate and cherish light in their respective ways. Three learners from these various religions dressed up in their respective traditional clothing and read a piece about light and how their religion symbolises it.
Cricket madness
After a year filled with hard work from teachers and students alike, a little fun was had by all on Wednesday afternoon where the boys’ first team cricket team took on a team of staff members in what was a thrilling and laughter-filled game. The first team showed what they were made of and beat the staff team by a mere one run. Congratulations, boys!
