Newcastle Municipality warns against scammers offering municipal employment
A statement issued by the municipality's Communication Department, claimed the Newcastle Municipality did not accept any form of payment in exchange for employment.
Job selling has yet again reared its head within the Newcastle Municipality.
According to a statement issued by municipality’s Communications Department, the scam involved an individual who claimed to be from Newcastle Municipality.
Under the premise of working for the municipality, the suspect claimed he was able to secure employment within the municipality, for a fee.

The statement claimed the Newcastle Municipality did not accept any form of payment in exchange for employment.
“The Municipality adheres to a fair and transparent recruitment process, and is committed to developing a multi-cultural and diverse workforce, that is non-racist, non-sexist, and non-discriminatory,” read the statement.
Job seekers were encouraged to follow the official recruitment procedures when applying for a job within the municipality.
Anyone who was asked to pay to secure a job at the municipality is encouraged to contact the National Anticorruption Hotline on 0800 701 701.
