uThukela have confirmed that they received notice from Eskom that electricity power at the Ezakheni Bulk Plant (water pump station) will be cut as from now, for the next five hours.

Eskom say this disruption is due to routine maintenance.

uThukela District Municipality say they were not notified of the disruption, as Eskom gave them no warning.

As a result, Ladysmith will run out of water tomorrow. It is expected that Ladysmith will have no water for the entire day.

Ezakheni A, B, C, D and E; the old Ladysmith and Ithala Industrial Estate will have no water.

uThukela apologise for the inconvenience.
