WATCH: Deon and Michaela are stunt daredevils
As a professional stunt rider, the Richards Bay biker said he still felt nervous before a show.

A need for speed and an adrenaline rush has seen Deon Dreyer dedicating his life to motorcycle riding.
“I began with a BMX when I was 11-years-old. I became a South African Champion, travelling to places such as Brazil to compete,” he said.
After finishing school, he joined the army and enlisted in the Motorcycle Unit.
“I started riding bikes full time in 1993, accepting my first stunt invitation in 1999. Since then, I have travelled the country and performed stunts.”
As a professional stunt rider, the Richards Bay biker said he still felt nervous before a show.
“The adrenaline before and after a show still leaves me shaking. But that is all adrenaline,” he laughed.
On Saturday, November 11, he performed at a charity drive in Newcastle which was hosted by Boanerges MCC and Trust Riders MCC.

His stunts awed spectators, especially those with his fiancée, Michaela Marais.
“Michaela and I started performing together four years ago.”
In order to perform competently, Dreyersaid one needed to be physically fit and bike fit.
“Practice is also importance. If you want to do a specific stunt, it is important to do it as home before going try it at a show.”
With the couple performing death defying tricks, Dreyer said what he enjoyed most about his career was the excitement.
“The adrenaline, the crowds, the appreciation on people’s faces with the pleasure we bring and becoming one with the bike makes it all worth it.”
