PREVIEW: IEC harvests voter details across the province

The IEC is moving forward with its plans to collate voter details, ahead of the General Elections in 2019.

Ahead of 2019’s General Elections, addresses are in high demand.

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) is on a mission to ‘harvest’ addresses of voters.

It seeks to update voter rolls by General Elections in 2019 and Local Government Elections in 2020.

This process must be complete by June next year.

Commission representative, Thembi Ntshangase gave a presentation on this during Local Council last Thursday.

The commission was concerned the bulk of voters’ verified information was still outstanding.

To counter this, the commission has taken a number of steps.
