JUST IN: Pedestrian killed in Drakensberg Drive hit-and-run
Despite numerous attempts to resuscitate the patient, he was declared dead at the scene.
A man died after he was run down by a motor vehicle on Drakensberg Drive during the weekend.
It is believed the pedestrian was under the influence of alcohol and was jaywalking when he was struck by the vehicle.
However, the motorist fled the scene, leaving the pedestrian for dead.
SAPS and ambulance services were summoned to the scene and attempted to revive the patient.
Unfortunately, despite numerous attempts to resuscitate the man, paramedics declared him dead at the scene.
Motorists are urged to be vigilant at all times, and especially when travelling at night.
