Woman airlifted to safety after fall in the Drakensberg while hiking

She slipped on some rocks while hiking and injured herself

A 24-year-old woman had to be airlifted to safety after she fell while hiking in the Drakensberg on Thursday afternoon (December 7).

The woman is currently on holiday with her husband and was hiking in Tiger Falls Valley.

She slipped on some rocks and injured herself.

The lady was airlifted from the scene to Bergville Fire Station.

Paramedics treated her for injuries sustained before she was taken to hospital for further medical treatment.
