Sun sets beautifully on the Bowls Business League
Pick n Pay, ably skippered by Jan de Lange, continued their successful run, winning the league on +104 points, way ahead of their nearest rivals.
PERFECT conditions prevailed at the final round of the Vryheid Bowling Club Bowls Business League Final on November 28 as the league came to its conclusion under clear skies, mild temperatures and a beautiful backdrop of a magnificent sunset on the Vryheid horizon.
There was an amazing vibe with hearty laughter, sometimes exclamations of despair, wise advice on the delivery or amount of grass and weight to execute the perfect shot. The sides of the greens were lined by happy family members supporting their teams.

Pick n Pay, ably skippered by Jan de Lange, continued their successful run, winning the league on +104 points, way ahead of their nearest rivals. Well done and very well deserved. The next three places were a much closer affair, with only 10 points separating these three teams. Natal Plumbers and Builders +66 points, with Trevor Schefermann as skipper, were second, Lorraine Vincent’s team, Dales van Heerden +58 points in third and title holders, Van Eeden Electrical, skippered by Henry Klofta +56 points, filling the fourth spot.
The league was concluded with prizegiving, a delicious braai, thanks to Pick n Pay and entertainment by Dupie from the band ‘Black Wiskey’ on his guitar.
