“With the school holidays in full swing, there are more cars on the road and more collisions taking place. We need people to come and donate blood,” said SANBS spokesperson, Shavani Sewpaul.

Sewpaul said due to the school holidays, SANBS was unable to hold regular blood clinics at schools.

“A lot of our regular donors have also gone out of town, which is why we need other donors in town to come and donate.”

Promoting blood donations, SANBS will be giving away power banks to every person who successfully donates a pint of blood. People are encouraged to visit SANBS premises at Newcastle Mall to donate blood, and share the ultimate gift this festive season; the gift of life.
