‘Boer soek ‘n vrou’ star dresses as Santa to help local business spread Christmas cheer

“It was a very touching day for all of us and just seeing the gratitude on the faces of those children was so incredible."

VRYHEID Gearbox Centre went out to Lakeside to share the festive cheer just before Christmas.

On a truck that was well decorated for the occasion, staff members went out to hand 500 sweet packets to children in Lakeside.

Vryheid Gerabox Centre staff members’ spirits were not dampened by the rain.

According to Amanda Bothma, her boss Martein Beän who felt in his heart that he should do something as a means to give back to the community, thought out the initiative.

And off we go…

“He just wanted to lend a helping hand to the community and was fortunate enough to receive assistance from pastor Phakathi of Christian Bible Church International. Pastor Phakathi helped call out the children to the streets once we arrived in Lakeside. He also read the Word of God and prayed,” said Amanda.

Pastor Phakathi and Martein Beän made a great team.

Former ‘Boer soek ‘n vrou’ contestant, Marlien Beän, dressed up as Santa for the day.

A gift from Santa.

“It was a very touching day for all of us and just seeing the gratitude on the faces of those children was so incredible,” said Amanda.

Vryheid Gearbox Centre is challenging other local businesses to do their bit for the community this festive season.
