Free Sai Centre medical clinics attract 92 patients

The next eye clinic will be held in August or September and the focus will be on school-going children and children with disabilities

92 people benefitted from free medical services on Sunday. This was thanks to the Sathya Sai International Organisation of South Africa (Estcourt Sai Centre) that partnered with optometrists.

The free blood pressure and eye testing clinic was held at Forderville Primary School from 9am until after 3pm.
The large number of people was again an indication that these services are essential in Estcourt and surrounding areas.
Local optometrist Angela Plows and visiting optometrists from Ladysmith and Durban hosted the eye testing and volunteers from the Estcourt Sai Centre assisted with blood pressure testing and eye screenings.

In response to complaints from some residents about the registration process, Mr Pillaye said that even though residents had registered their names at the previous clinic, it was imperative for them to call and confirm that their names are on the list.

“Nevertheless everyone was seen to,” added Mr Pillaye.
