Municipal school visits rounded off with a uniform handover

Learners were urged to work hard and pass grade 12 with distinctions, go to further their studies

The Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality concluded its back to school visits with the last two held on February 21 and 23.

The Mayor Jabulile Mbele delegated a team from the municipality to visit Sizathina High School in ward two and Sobabili High School in ward 14.

The appointed team encouraged the educators and learners to keep up the momentum and always make education a priority. The delegation said they were proud of the 100 percent achievement from the class of 2017.

Learners were urged to work hard and pass grade 12 with distinctions, go to further their studies and return with degrees in order to change their family’s lives for the better.

“Education is the key to success and the most important tool in life,” said one of the speakers.

Youth Manager Lethu Khumalo encouraged the learners to study hard and make sure that they get good results to qualify for registration and bursaries to higher learning institutions, which the municipality offers.

Thereafter 15 needy learners received their school’s full uniform. A further 15 learners from Sobabili High School each received a set of school uniform.

The school principal thanked the dedicated team from the municipality for visiting the school. Sobabili High’s class of 2017 achieved a 97 percent pass rate.

Mr Mpembe urged the learners to keep up the good work and advised them to visit the youth office for any issues affecting them.
