Saving lives one pint at a time

Despite the delay and cold rainy weather experienced, locals set off to the town hall to donate a pint of lifesaving blood

The South African National Blood Services (SANBS) were making their way to the Estcourt Town Hall when along the N3 an accident caused a three-hour delay.

Wendy Dicks made her 47th lifesaving blood donation last week.

They apologise for any inconvenience caused. The monthly blood donor clinic started at 1.30pm and not at 11am. Despite the delay and cold rainy weather experienced, locals set off to the town hall to donate a pint of lifesaving blood.

The SANBS nursing team assisted blood donors donate 45 pints of blood. 52 locals attended the blood clinic and three new blood donors were welcomed.

The SANBS team and the Clinic Co-ordinator Mr SM Dawoonarain thank everyone who supported this worthy cause and once again apologise for the delay.

The next monthly blood donor clinic will be held on April 12 from 11am to 6pm at the town hall.
