Vryheid Gymnastics on the map again
Compiling this magnificent team of coaches and assistant coaches was an easy task, as they all share the same passion and love for both gymnastics and children.
JAN-Daniel Kruger and Marina de Beer, founders of Vryheid Gymnastics Centre, have big plans for Vryheid’s gymnasts.
Gymnastics provides excellent development in areas of gross motor control, flexibility, co-ordination, concentration and strength.
We are pleased to present to you our team. Compiling this magnificent team of coaches and assistant coaches was an easy task, as they all share the same passion and love for both gymnastics and children. Each and every one of them brings a unique and special element with them which will benefit the club and this team. Each member of this team is considered an asset of Vryheid Gymnastics Centre.

Marina de Beer (Coach and Level 1-3 Judge) is a passionate dance teacher who knows what it takes for children to succeed in life.To her, there is no greater feeling than seeing children grow to their full potential. Marina’s favourite quote is “When you love what you do, you don’t have to work a day in your life”.
Jan Daniel Kruger ( Coach and Level 1-3 Judge) developed his passion for gymnastics early in life, competing in numerous competitions and obtaining provincial colours for Natal and his National colours. He is no stranger to Vryheid when it comes to gymnastics, having taken the previous club to competition level as both coach and judge.
Elmien Potgieter (Coach) started her gymnastics career at the age of 6. She lived for the sport and obtained her provincial colours for Mpumalanga and always believed that your coach is both your biggest enemy and your best friend.
Kinnie van der Walt (Coach) is a very passionate woman with a huge love for working with children. Her love for God is even bigger and she believes that nothing is possible without Him. Her motto in life is, “Do everything full out, or not at all”.
Petra Kritzinger (Coach and Level 1-3 Judge) is an enthusiastic and fun-loving person with a passion for gymnastics that started years ago. With years of hard work and dedication she has obtained her provincial colours for Natal and her National colours. Petra’s favourite saying is, “Don’t practice until you get it right, practice until you can’t get it wrong!”
Ulrich Uys (Assistant coach) is no stranger to gymnastics. This dynamic 17 year old achieved his SA colours a few years ago and loves to pass along his knowledge to the children.
Nicole Machado (Assistant coach) is an enthusiastic fun-loving and patient 16 year old who adores children and loves working with them. “You do not achieve anything in life without goals and ambition” is what keeps Nicole motivated through life.
Megan de Beer (Assistant coach) is a passionate young performer with many National Dance Titles to her name. This 16 year old loves to inspire children through her dancing and knows all about hard work paying off to see the results thereof. Her favourite quote is “The Lord is on my side, I will not fear.”
We are also very excited for Hardus Koekemoer to join our team. Hardus is a very passionate and dedicated Gymnastic Level 1 and 2 Coach and Judge. He has 10 years of Gymnastic training behind his name.
All our Coaches and Assistant coaches are fully registered with SAGF (South African Gymnastics Federation).
