Curb insomnia with these 5 tips
Exercising and exerting your body can make it easier for you to fall asleep

With our stressful day-to-day lives, it is easy for anyone to suffer from insomnia and have sleepless nights. Curing insomnia requires some lifestyle adjustments, but they’ll be worth it once you can stop counting sheep every night. Give these 5 tips a try to get a better night’s sleep:
- Set a schedule: This means sleeping and waking up at the same time every day. When you wake up, avoid spending any more time in bed; get up and move around. To encourage this, you can place your alarm on the other side of the room so you force yourself to get up.
2. To sleep well, eat well: One needs to eat balanced meals throughout the day, and make breakfast your biggest. Digesting food requires energy, so if you eat a heavy meal late at night, your body will be hard at work digesting when it should be sleeping. Steer clear of greasy or fatty foods before bed as well.
3. Caffeine is a danger zone: Caffeine can stay in your system for up to 7 hours! If you have trouble sleeping or want to stop your insomnia, don’t drink it past noon.

4. Exercise, exercise and more exercise: Exercising and exerting your body can make it easier for you to fall asleep, and it keeps you healthy! Go for a run, walk or do a bit of yoga.
5. Put down that phone! When you get into bed and want to sleep, it is better to put away all those electronics. This is because light-emitting devices stimulate and engage the mind, which is the opposite of what you want to be doing right before bed.
