Dundee to Dundee journey starts earlier than expected

The couple have already crossed into Botswana

Kevin and Donna Krummeck have started several weeks earlier than expected on their Epic Africa Journey from Dundee – our one – South Africa to Dundee, Scotland.

The couple was to have started their trip in their red Landrover from Dundee on May 6 but due to family commitments and the need to get back home for their son’s wedding and the birth of their first grandchild, they set off this weekend after a get together at Foy Vermaak’s B and B Penny Farthing.

Foy played rugby in the 1960s in Dundee with Kevin’s dad, Trevor. Kevin was born in Dundee but left for Johannesburg while still small after his dad was transferred. Donna was born in Dundee, Scotland, and came to South Africa as a little girl with her family and as fate would have it, they met in Johannesburg and married.

They now live on the South Coast where they run a restaurant.

LMI Studios Bev chatted to Kevin and Donna shortly before they left.
