PREVIEW: Clinic patients’ plight addressed by committee
The PHC Clinic committee, together with staff members, took the initiative to bring order to its filing system on April 27.

Lost files, misfiling and backlogs will be a thing of the past, as the plight of the patients at the Newcastle Primary Health Care (PHC) Clinic has been heard.

The PHC Clinic committee, together with staff members, took the initiative to bring order to its filing system on April 27.
The committee evaluated the issues brought to them in a formal meeting held on April 8, and took the necessary actions.
The first issue brought to its attention was the use of multiple access points to the clinic, and the lack of security present thereof.
“I can officially say the clinic now has one access point for vehicles, as well as one walk-way gate which is adequately manned by security guards,” confirmed Chairperson of the PHC Clinic, Bheki Zikalala.

“Any person with a firearm can now declare their weapon before entering the clinic, and it is safer for the staff after dark.”
