APPLY: Police vacancies now available

See if you meet the minimum requirements to become a police officer, SAPS currently have openings for youth

Are passionate about policing? Well, you can now help combat crime as the South African Police Service (SAPS) is calling on youth to join the service.

Do you meet the below minimum requirements:

  • Are between the ages of 18 and 30
  • In possession of a Grade 12 certificate
  • Proficient in at least two languages of which one must be English
  • Prepared to take the oath of office
  • NO CRIMINAL RECORD/NO PENDING CRIMINAL CASES

Successful applicants will report for training in January 2019 for a period of 21 months. Successful applicants will also receive a stipend of R4 500 for the Induction Phase and Basic Training Phase.

The programme consists of three phases:

  • Induction Phase
    One month at a designated police station;
  • Basic Training Phase
    Eight months Basic Training at a designated SAPS Academy
  • Probation Phase
    After successful completion of the Induction and the Basic Training Phase, the police trainee shall be appointed as a member of the Service under probation for a period of 12 months
