Will Blue or Red win bragging rights on Saturday?

So, sports lovers get to Sarel Cilliers early on Saturday and support your teams - red or blue.

Excitement is mounting for the Derby Day clash of the season when the red of Dundee High meets the blue of Sarel Cilliers on the sports field on Saturday.

This year’s Derby Day encounter is at Glencoe and both schools are already undergoing ‘spirit week training’ in readiness for the big day.

The rugby action starts at 8.30am with under 16 A teams on the A field, the under 14As on the B field followed the second teams at 9.40am,, the under 15 A teams at 10.50am and the main attraction, the first teams kicking off at midday.

There is also netball – starting with the under 15/A and u/!6B on the A and B fields, right through to 10.30am when the first teams meet.

The hockey starts at 8.30am on the A field with the under 16 girls, the boys first teams meet at 9.30am and the first team girls at 10.30am.

Chess starts in the Lions Den Clubhouse at 8.30am.

While the Blue Lions of Sarel Cilliers are again favourites to win the main game (at midday), as it is a derby day, the result could go either way.

DHS’s last victory was in 2004 when they beat their Glencoe rivals 13-6.  Sarel over turned the score in 2005, 20-7, and have won every Derby Day (main game) since.

So, sports lovers get to Sarel Cilliers early on Saturday and support your teams – red or blue.
