Estcourt learners compete at Reading and Spelling Competition
The aim of the competition is to promote reading, spelling, literacy and language development.
Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality (ILM) hosted a successful Reading and Spelling Competition at Forderville Library on Monday (September 14).
Learners from various schools in and around Estcourt took part in the event, competing in both IsiZulu and English.
The competition aims to promote reading, spelling, literacy and language development.
Top 3 for both languages
The top 3 in IsiZulu were:
- Mellisa Mchunu;
- Seminathi Mbatha;
- Swazi Madonsela.
Top 3 in English:
- Zaina Bhayat;
- Mohammed Tahirkham;
- Aisha Tofazzal.
Proceeding to district level 3
These learners will now represent the municipality at district level 3 in Ladysmith.
ILM congratulated the learners and wished them well for the next round. The municipality also thanked the parents, teachers and all the schools that participated.
