SPCA Corner: Always keep pets safe and warm
As temperatures are expected to drop below freezing this week, pets should not be left outside for extended periods.
A big thank you to the following: Farmer’s Meats, Glencoe for off-cuts, Pick n Pay Meats and pet food from Pick n Pay. The SPCA made R1000 at their stall at the Courier’s Jumble Sale held on Saturday. The De Beer family from Cosmic Transport contributed the following: 70 blankets, 86 bags of dog food, 32 bags of cat food and loads of tinned pet food.
As temperatures are expected to drop below freezing this week, pets should not be left outside for extended periods. Cats, short-coated dogs and puppies are particularly vulnerable in cold temperatures. Keep cats indoors and protect your dogs from frostbite or hypothermia by taking them outside for short periods during cold weather.
