Sonishka sets her sights on Miss India SA

Sonishka is also an avid writer, an aspiring chef, and a keen musician who also owns her own franchise

At just 19-years-old, Sonishka Singh is passionate about many things in life, and now has her sight set on the Miss India SA pageant.
Through the pageant, the local lass is hoping to inspire other young girls to follow their dreams and prove that coming from a small town doesn’t mean you can only do small things.

Sonishka’s exposure to the world of modeling started at the young age of 4, and while she competed in pageants at school, she’s never done one on this level. However, that hasn’t intimidated her. On the contrary, it’s actually made her more confident. “You need a lot of bravery to go up onto that stage, but I am excited. Pageants do boost your self-esteem,” she said.

“If this goes well, I will definitely enter other pageants,” Sonishka added.
In order to qualify for the Miss India SA pageant, Sonishka will first have to go through the Miss India SA KZN regionals. She will have to model Eastern wear, Western wear, as well as perform a talent. Miss India SA will give her the platform to celebrate her culture, something she’s very passionate about. It will also give her a chance to showcase her singing ability and a chance to dress up, something she’s eagerly looking forward to. But it’s not only singing and dressing up that drives this young Glencoe beauty.

Sonishka is also an avid writer, an aspiring chef, and a keen musician who also owns her own franchise, where she teaches young children to understand and love Maths. Multi-talented and a lover of life, Sonishka aims to use the pageant to make a difference in the world.

“There’s only so much you can do as an ordinary citizen, but with a title, it gives you the respect and power to make a difference in the world,” she added.

With Zee TV as the primary sponsor, there’s more chance for the entrants to get the exposure they need but also more chance to be seen on camera should they make any mistakes. “I don’t want to fail or fall,” she said. Sonishka is looking for three main sponsors to help make her pageant dream come true and anyone wishing to sponsor her, can contact her on 061 350 9919.

Beautiful and brainy and a ball of energy, Sonishka aims to impress and inspire through the Miss India SA platform.
