Six people sustained minor to moderate injuries after two vehicles collided on the N11, between Volksrust and Newcastle, on Friday night (July 6).
It was believed the two vehicles were travelling in the same direction when they collided.
One of the vehicles, which was transporting a large number of gas cylinders, overturned after colliding with the other vehicle.
The passenger of the overturned vehicle was left trapped, and had to be freed from the wreckage with the Jaws of Life.
According to Jan-Henk van Vuuren from WATCO Emergency Services, two people from the one vehicle, and another four from the second vehicle sustained injuries. They were taken to local hospitals for further medical treatment.
The exact cause of the collision is still unclear at this stage, and will be subjected to further investigation.
