Blocked storm-water drains throughout town have caused major problems for residents and homeowners.
A ‘hot-spot’ for blocked storm-water drains is Meena Place, which has left residents furious as there is no way for rain water to flow.
The residents say that their drains are blocked with rubbish that people dump into the system.
Glass bottles, plastic bottles and other refuse is put into the drains, which blocks the flow of water.

Those living in the area say that when it rains, the water flows into the streets, leaving the roads like a river.
Many people have contacted uThukela to try and sort out the problem, yet their cry for help seems to fall on deaf ears.
The residents have now contacted IFP councillor Abbas Warasally for assistance.
Many of the drains also don’t have covers on them, leaving a gaping hole which people could easily fall into.
