Legends secure victory as goals flow freely

An eight-goal thriller stole the spotlight this past weekend.

The City of Refuge Super League continued on Sunday (May 31) at the Fernwood Grounds and School of Industries Ground, with several entertaining encounters producing plenty of goals.

At Fernwood, Blue Rovers hosted Newcastle Legends in the opening match. Rovers took the lead shortly before half-time following a defensive mix-up in the Legends’ backline.

However, Newcastle Legends responded strongly after the break, scoring three unanswered goals to secure a convincing 3-1 victory.

In the next fixture, Zim Stars faced Munawarah. Zim Stars created numerous opportunities in the first half, but were unable to convert them. The second half was fiercely contested, with both teams showing determination and aggression.

Zim Stars ultimately made their chances count to claim a hard-fought 4-2 win.
