Watch: Missing dog rescued from vehicle in Murchison Street

Members of the Dog Unit broke one of the windows to free the dog

A missing poodle was rescued from a car in Murchison Street on Friday evening (July 6).

The dog is believed to have gone missing from its yard on Thursday night.

On Friday evening, a businessman noticed a dog sitting in a parked vehicle in Murchison Street. The businessman contacted the Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL), who immediately went out with the Dog Unit.

On arrival, they found the scared dog in the back seat, with all the windows closed and the doors locked.

Members of the Dog Unit broke one of the windows to free the dog.

The dog was unharmed, and was safely removed and handed back to its rightful owners.

The next day, the owners went to the police station and opened a case of theft.
