The initiative was led by the municipality’s Technical Services Department and municipal staff, community members and councillors who came to volunteer their assistance on the day. The disability centre boasts beautiful craftwork and brick-making as activities taught to disabled people within the area.

On Friday, the municipality hosted a health awareness campaign and sporting events for senior citizens in Acton Homes, Ward 11. This initiative was led by the municipality’s Social Services Department and it was supported municipal staff, councillors, community members, and colleagues from various departments.

The week-long activities drew to a close with a fun afternoon at the Sprinkle Orphanage in the Obonjaneni Area in Ward six. This initiative was led by the Office of the Municipal Manager (MM) and was supported by the senior management of the municipality, the Deputy Mayor and the Speaker.

The visit was held to celebrate the awards that the municipality and the MM recently won. The MM challenged the management to donate food supplies and contribute towards hosting a braai for the children.
