Ichthus athletics – 10 records shattered

Congratulations to all the participants who performed so well.

On Saturday, August 4, Ichthus hosted their inter-house athletics meeting which was approached with great enthusiasm by all the learners, staff and friends. Congratulations to all the participants who performed so well. The following athletes were awarded trophies and medals: Best u/9 boy: Seamus Stein; Best u/9 girl: Azokwakha Mdiniso; Junior Victrix Ludorum: Malwande Mdiniso; Junior Victor Ludorum: Raphael Mazibuko; Senior Victrix Ludorum: Roseline Mumpi; Senior Victor Ludorum: Siphume Ntombela; Best u/14 boy: Joyce Cibyayi; Best individual achievement of the day: Faith Mazibuko for u/11 Shotput with a total of 852 points on the ASA table.
The following records have been improved – 80 % of them by the Cibyayi family: Boys 600m Junior Long Distance (u/8) – Khwezi Kheswa; Boys 600m Junior Long Distance (u/9) – Seamus Stein; Girls Long jump (u/10) – Emmanuella Cibyayi; Girls 80m (u/10) – Emmanuella Cibyayi; Girls 100m (u/10) – Emmanuella Cibyayi; Boys 100m (u/14) – Joyce Cibyayi; Boys Long jump (u/14) – Joyce Cibyayi; Boys Shotput (u/14) – Joyce Cibyayi; Boys Javelin (u/14) – Joyce Cibyayi; Boys Discus (u/14) – Joyce Cibyayi.
Ichthus would like to thank Dundee High School for the use of their athletic facilities. Thank you to all the teachers, friends of the school and parents who are involved in training the athletes during the season and who helped as officials. Ichthus looks forward to the Northern KZN Athletics which will be hosted on Saturday 18 August 2018 at Dundee High School.
