With no regard for the day being a day to celebrate women’s rights and with little regard for any respect, a man raped a woman in her Sibongile house at about midday on Women’s Day, Thursday, August 9.
Police said the woman’s son had received a call from concerned neighbours. He rushed home and found his mother unconscious on a bed. Neighbours told him that they had seen a man earlier enter the house and lock the door after which they heard a woman screaming. The man was later seen leaving the house. He son believed she was raped and took her to hospital for treatment and the police alerted.
