The LHS choir took part in an Eisteddfod held in Bethlehem, in the Free State, on Thursday (August 16).
According to the rules, they had to sing three songs from different genres.
So the choir sang a traditional Xhosa prayer (Indodana), an Afrikaans song called ‘Halala Africa’, and the Queen song ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’.
At the end of the Eisteddfod-competition, LHS were the only choir to achieve an A++ (above 90%).
The LHS choir was thus the best high school choir at the Eisteddfod – a special moment for the school that will be remembered for a long time.
“Well done, you are true ambassadors of whom we are very proud,” is the message from LHS.
