Time is running out: Swop over to the new Sassa card today!
Beneficiaries have an opportunity to renew their Sassa cards again at the Ward Three War Room in Suryaville.
Recipients of old age, disability, child support, war veterans grants and other South Africa Social Security Agency (Sassa) social grants have an opportunity to renew their Sassa cards again at the Ward Three War Room (36 Asnika Crescent) in Suryaville.
This will be conducted on September 2 from 8.30am onward.

The outreach proved to be a success as the Newcastle branch of the SA Post Office together with Ward Three committee members, saw over 300 renewals on the day.
“Beneficiaries are reminded that this service is not limited to Ward Three residents only and all recipients are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity,” said Ward Three Councillor, Matthew Shunmugam.

The Newcastle branch of the SA Post Office on 60 Scott Street will also be renewing Sassa cards in September on the following weekends:
Saturday – (September 1) – 8am to 4pm.
Sunday – (September 2) – 9am – 3pm.
Saturday – (September 8) – 8am to 4pm.
Sunday – (September 9) – 9am – 3pm.
Saturday – (September 15) – 8am to 4pm.
Sunday – (September 16) – 9am – 3pm.
Advantages of this card:
– It is proof you are a recipient of a social grant.
– You can use your Sassa card at any financial institution.
– The first three transactions are free. “Those who have experienced unknown deductions from their old cards would be able to resolve this issue as these transactions would be automatically cancelled when you renew your Sassa card.”
– No extra charges will be billed to beneficiaries when withdrawing from Sassa paypoints (supermarkets).
