An impromptu protest has seen the Wasbank road, near the Helpmekaar turn off, blocked by rocks and tyres.

There is a strong police presence in the area and motorists are urged to avoid the area.

It is not yet clear what the protest is about but some believe it is to do with complaints over water delivery in the area.

The road to Wasbank from Helpmekaar was also blocked this road after rocks has been placed on the road.
