At her final assembly on the last day of her teaching career, she was entertained by a variety of groups from the school – the Girl Guides, the school choir, kind words from past pupils and dancing groups.

The choir under the watchful eye of choir mistress Mrs Shange, in full song.

She is a published author and her writing group, The Dancing Pencils with whom she has had several books published, also entertained her.

The staff treated her to a delicious high tea and presented her with gifts. It was an emotional goodbye to a dedicated educator who has quietly gone about educating and extending the young people she has been entrusted with.

She might be retiring from school education but she certainly has a full life ahead with her duties at the local Anglican Church.  The school in its entirety is grateful to Mrs Magubane for the contribution she made to Drakensview.
