St Doms’ mini adventurer takes on maximum adventure

St Dominics wished Divan and the team well on their voyage, and expressed deep pride in the young and intrepid adventurer.

Eight-year-old St Dominic’s learner, Divan Swart will join the school’s Outdoor Pursuits team on September 20.

The team’s objective is to paddle 106 kilometres down the Orange River from Vioolsdrift, through the Richtersveld to a pick-up point in Namibia.

This trip is expected to take six days to complete.

Without a support team, as there is no road access to the Orange River from along the route, the team will be entirely self-sufficient.

“Divan, who loves the outdoors and is an avid sportsman, says he is up to it and will keep up with the bigger boys, who are high school learners.”

St Dominics wished Divan and the team well on their voyage, and expressed deep pride in the young and intrepid adventurer.
