A shortage of equipment in school laboratories meant that learners were at a distinct disadvantage during their science and maths studies.

Cllr Mchunu called on the help of his friend, Professor Chatlif Kaiter who is a lecturer in America and wrote a letter, requesting a donation of microscopes. Cllr Mchunu was appreciative when the Professor responded positively.
Vukasekusile High School and Thembalihle Combined School learners and educators were happy to receive a microscope each.
“They were very excited because these microscopes will help with lessons, especially during science and maths, which are very important,” said Cllr Mchunu.
