DHS’s Star hockey players’ talent takes them places
Besides the hockey, this was a huge eye-opening experience as they had some time off for sight-seeing.
On September 30, at OR Thambo Airport, Karl and Stefan Thom and Nqubeko Mngomezulu’s life-changing experience began. They flew to Amsterdam, via Abu Dhabi to start their hockey tour. These three Dundee High School boys were selected to represent an ECHS invitational hockey team to tour the Netherlands and Germany. They had the most incredible opportunity to play games against top European teams at four different clubs. They also attended various coaching clinics hosted by world-renowned hockey players. These games and coaching clinics proved to be a great opportunity to improve their hockey skills and gameplay.
Besides the hockey, this was a huge eye-opening experience as they had some time off for sight-seeing.
They were able to enjoy the breath-taking scenery of Cologne, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht which included the Cologne Cathedral, a cycle tour through Holland and a beautiful canal cruise.
All three boys would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the community who contributed towards raising the necessary funds to enable them to make a dream come true.
