Business League teams aim for the jack

All teams which played in the league will now play cross-section games in the final round this Thursday evening, to complete what has been a very successful event, thanks to the generosity of the sponsors.

The final round of league play in the FedAuto Spring Business League was completed at the weekend, with teams vying to end the enjoyable play with a flourish.

In Section 1, Darrel Brown’s Ladies (13 + 104) and Putt Putts (13 + 69) remained unbeaten to take the top two spots, while Bowldilocks (11 + 79), Melo’s (11 + 64) and Doing It Again (11 + 2) all only dropped one game to finish in the top five.

Three teams were unbeaten in Section 2, namely Hackers (13 + 77), Farmyard (13 + 75) and Bi Agri Smart (13 + 58), with Eschem (11 + 63) and Team Magnum (11 + 50) only losing one game to complete the top five in that section.

Playing in a local club tabs-in competition on Saturday afternoon, the winners were Jan Winterbach, Rodger Jackets and Solly Cronje, followed by Trevor Douthwaite, Piet Reynecke and Lynn Dowsett in second place and Billy Nicholas, Mike Hartman and Johan le Roux in third place.
