On Wednesday, December 5, Ichthus held their annual senior prize giving. Pastor Henry Rotol of the Potters House Church opened the evening with an inspirational message for young and old, followed by the Ichthus choir’s sweet melodic voices.
Every learner at Ichthus received a book prize which mentions his or her unique accomplishments and character.

The evening ended with a candle-lighting ceremony where the Grade 6 learners took over the leadership of the school from Grade 7 learners.

GymKid sets the bar at Ichthus!
On Monday, November 26, the GymKid gymnastics programme hosted their awards day ceremony at Ichthus. Parents, Grandparents and friends watched in awe as the Grade RR & R gymnasts showed off their skills during their routine using the mini-trampoline, beam, bar, hoops and landing mats.
At the end of the demonstration, every learner received a medal and certificate of participation.
The following learners were the winners of special awards: Lizwilamagazi Biyela: Beam Routine (Boys); Daniella Mukoka: Beam Routine (Girls); Embo Mkhize: Front roll (Girls); Busiseka Zulu: (Boys) Best improvement.
Trophy winners: Sethu Sibiya: Best overall gymnast (Boys); Izibusiso Phakathi: Best overall gymnast (Girls).
Ichthus thanks Mrs Charlene Jansen van Vuuren and her team for travelling from Newcastle once a week to coach their Grade R and RR learners.
The school looks forward to hosting GymKid again in 2019.
