Bowlers bring home turkeys and chickens
Burnt End wishes all members and readers a special Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
The Newcastle Bowling Club’s annual turkey competition was played on the public holiday on Monday, with a pleasing turnout of 36 players. Competition was keen with everyone trying to take home some Christmas cheer.

Scoring a full house of 10 points saw the turkey prizes going to Lukas Niemand, Ron Unger and John le Roux, followed closely by the winners of the chickens, also on 10 points: Colin Brodrick, Marius Bouwer Snr and George Robinson.
Please note: The greens will be closed until January 5, 2019.
