Top 2 matric learners in Zululand are from Hoërskool Pionier

Pionier was able to confirm the exemplary achievement of its learners after receiving matric results from the Department of Education this morning.

The school further disclosed that Wilma Gregory, also a Pionier matriculant, is the second top academic achiever in the Zululand Distrist.

When the Vryheid Herald spoke to Annika earlier today, she was at a celebratory function at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban waiting to hear her position among the top ten matric learners in the province.

“I did not expect it at all,” she said. “I am so surprised.”

Annika obtained seven distinctions and is enrolled to study pharmacy at the North Western University in Potchefstroom.

“Good luck to all the outgoing matrics of 2018. I wish you all the very best. May you always remember that you are the master of your own life and that the brightness of your future is depending on you,” concluded Annika.

“To the matrics of 2019, my best advice is to work hard and give your absolute best. It’s worth it in the end and the feeling of satisfaction will overflow when you achieve all your goals.
