DHS Hockey boys perform exceptionally well at trials

Dundee High's hockey players attended the Umzinyathi trials and a few learners made the team

On Sunday, February 2, many of Dundee High’s hockey players attended the Umzinyathi trials and the following have made the team: u/18: Mpumelelo Majozi, Neo Motaung, Stefan Thom, Nqubeko Mngomezulu, Tadiwa Chawanda and Andrew Nero; u/16: Sibusiso Qwabe, Eric Lauwrens, Sinakho Myeza, Shaylen Pillay and Amahle Mdubeki.

DHS Cricket Trials
The NKZN cricket trials took place on Friday, February 1, at Saint Dominic’s Academy in Newcastle. The following learners have been selected to represent NKZN at the KZN inland trials: Amahle Mdubeki, Jen-Frederik van Zyl, Lermard Fraser and Preston Caldecott.

Bowls Trials
Congratulations to Sinkokonke Zulu for being selected out of 30 hopefuls to represent the KZN Country Bowls B team at the South African Development Tournament in Bloemfontein on March 25 – 29.

Hermansburg Mudman
Full individual (750m swim + 20km MTB + 5km run) Gabby Carter finished first in her age group and third overall and Mrs Carter finished third in her age group and eighth overall.
Half distance teams: Many DHS teams took place and their times were as follows: 1:13:30 Stefan Thom, Preston Caldecott and Eric Lauwrens; 1:21:46 Jordan van Rauenstein, Lermard Fraser and Michael van der Merwe; 1:25:30 Nadia Raffenberg, Sifiso Mncwangi and Sbonga Zikali; 1:27:22 Yanetse Selephe, Mpumelele Majozi and Bheka Ndlovu; 1:29:54 Cameron Meintjes, Deagan Nuss and Chloe Petzer; 1:32:09 Savannah Calitz, Hamish Grierson and Kayla Tredoux; 2:16:57 Elicia van der Merwe, Amahle Ntanzi and Mardiyyah Moola.

Midmar Mile
DHS had quite a few learners who took part in the Midmar Mile that took place on Saturday and Sunday in Howick. Congratulations to the following learners and teachers who completed the mile: Chantel Carter, Gabby Carter, Keaton van Rauenstein, Jordan van Rauenstein, Phillipa Lee, Nadia Raffenberg, Elicia van der Merwe and Mrs Venter.
