The Pieters turn-off is now clear after protesters blocked the road this morning (March 2).
Huge rocks were strewn across the roadway and traffic could not get through.
At this stage, it is unclear why community members chose to block the road.
Emergency officials responded to the scene.
The road is now safe for all motorists to use.
