The Festival of Chariots is hosted by Iskcon Estcourt and will start at 10am at the Estcourt Town Hall.

Also known as Jagannath Ratha Yatra, the festival celebrates the return of Krishna (Jagannath) and his brother and sister, Balarama and Subhadra, to Vrindavan.

The three deities are placed on a beautifully decorated chariot and the procession goes through the central business district, the ropes of the chariot tugged on by the devotees.

Devotees offer prayers and request blessings during this intensely spiritual festival.

Besides the main attraction, there will also be henna tattoos, face painting, gopi dots, book stalls, a flea market, a Bhakti yoga tent and an inspirational talk.
